every organization needs to print materials and pay rent. but when you make a donation to jewish heart for africa, we believe that your money should go to our projects, not to our overheads. that is why we have foundations that support our operating costs—so that you don’t have to. when you make an individual donation to jewish heart for africa, every dollar goes to fund our project costs, using israeli innovation to improve african lives.

jewish heart for africa uses every dollar donated to fund our solar and agricultural projects in ethiopia, tanzania, malawi and uganda.

solar power in medical clinics provides light for nighttime medical care and refrigeration for lifesaving medicines and vaccines.

it doesn't take much to turn dirty water into clean, to turn dangerous kerosene lamps into bright light bulbs. all it takes is a little energy. solar technology from israel helps us power each of the projects above, bringing light, clean water, improved education and proper medical care to african villages in need. when you make a donation to jewish heart for africa--this is how your money is spent, brightening lives with israeli technologies.

by the numbers

our solar powered refrigerators were used to vaccinate 65,000 children in
a nationwide campaign to prevent
a polio outbreak in uganda.

since 2008, thanks to your support, jewish heart for africa has brought 150,000 people access to solar energy in their schools, medical clinics and water pumping systems. but our work isn't about the hundreds of thousands--its about the individuals, its about their stories.

each time we travel to africa, we take our cameras and our notebooks to bring back the accounts of the people who's lives you've changed.

solar power in schools allows children to
study in the evenings, and provides electricity
for radio and computer use.

these facilities, offering educational, medical and social services for orphans, vulnerable children and HIV/AIDS patients, can now offer evening programs and care
thanks to solar energy.

solar powered water pumps provide 20,000 liters of clean water each day to villages in which women and children used to walk for hours to find water to bring home to their families.

drip irrigation systems and training provide farmers with the tools they need to grow more crops, feed their families, and have extra to sell at local markets.
