for every project that we complete, we bring the story back to you, our supporters. each project has a photo gallery, and a google map so you can locate the village.

when a donor sponsors a project, we put him or her in touch with the facility directly. donors receive the phone numbers of the local contacts in charge of their project, whether its the doctor, headmaster or head of the local water committee. our donors also have the opportunity to visit their projects, and to monitor their solar panels remotely through the use of our cutting edge remote monitoring systems.

everyone can make a difference. it only takes $20 to bring solar energy to one person in africa. every donation helps, and every dollar is spent on our projects. but you can do more than donate money. you can donate your birthday, donate your time and more.

jewish heart for africa is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that brings sustainable israeli technologies to african villages. our mission is to save african lives with Israeli innovation, all while supporting israel's economy and image abroad. founded in 2008,  jewish heart for africa has provided light, clean water, food and proper medical care to more than 200,000 people in ethiopia, tanzania, malawi and uganda.

every day, african women and children will spend hours bringing home water to their families. this water is often dirty, causing death and disease. two out of every five children in the developing world die before the age of five, mostly due to unclean water.

our solar powered water pumping systems offer a solution. using solar technology, we can pump over 20,000 liters of clean water per day, enough for an entire village. these pumps save lives--eliminating diseases caused by dirty water. but they also provide new opportunities. opportunities for young girls to go to school instead of spending their days carrying buckets to and from the nearest water source. opportunities for their mothers to work, adding to the family's income and promoting equality between women and men. water doesn't just save lives, it improves them, promoting education, health and economic development.

without energy, medical clinics cannot offer nighttime medical care or store lifesaving medicines and vaccines. without light in schools, students learn in the dark, straining their eyes and inhaling smoke just to receive an education.

solar energy can help. with israeli solar technologies, jewish heart for africa's medical clinics offer well-lit 24 hour medical care for the first time. mothers can bring their children to receive vaccines against preventable disease, ensuring that they will never be vulnerable to illnesses like tuberculosis and polio. in schools, jewish heart for africa's solar panels create facilities where students do their work in the evening, and where adults gather and learn at night. they can use the electricity to power radios and computers as well, improving the standard of education and communication in the village, bringing both adults and children the opportunity for a brighter future.
