jewish heart for africa uses israeli solar systems to power african schools, medical clinics, orphanages and solar powered water pumping systems. solar energy is a clean and renewable energy source that—unlike wood and fossil fuels—does not cause deforestation or pollute the environment. solar panels are affordable, reliable, require little maintenance and have an average lifespan of over 20 years.

SCHOOLS

the average classroom in Africa contains wood or mud benches, with three to four children sharing each desk. without light in their schools and homes, these children cannot complete their homework or study for exams, providing little chance for the next generation to better their own circumstances.

using solar technologies from israel, jewish heart for africa creates facilities where students do their work in the evening, and where adults gather and learn at night.

in africa, two out of five children die before the age of five, mostly due to water-borne disease.

1.4 billion people - a quarter of humanity - live without electricity.

since its founding in 2008, jewish heart for africa has used solar energy to power over 40 schools medical clinics and water pumping systems, providing electricity to over 200,000 people.

30% of the average african household’s monthly income is spent on candles and kerosene lamps.

MEDICAL CLINICS

without electricity, clinics cannot offer effective medical care. they use kerosene lamps to light nighttime surgeries, and have no power for refrigeration of lifesaving medicines and vaccines. because they lack energy, generations of children are not immunized against preventable disease.

with solar technologies from israel, jewish heart for africa has the power to help. using solar energy, we install solar refrigerators for storage of medicines and vaccines. we replace unsafe and unsanitary kerosene lamps with energy saver bulbs in each room.

without energy for refrigeration, children cannot receive vaccines. over 2.2 million children die each year of preventable disease because they lack access to vaccinations.

for $20 you can provide an african family with access to a clean and renewable source of energy.
